  • GUIDELINE FOR HOMEWORK
    1. Read the information about your assigned emperors, and identify his accomplishments and failures. As you read, circle words or phrases that describe the emperors’ accomplishments. Underline words or phrases that describe his failures
    2. Decide on the six most important accomplishments or failures. If you feel that the emperor mostly helped, place “+” next to his name or if you feel he mostly failed his people, put a “-“ next to his name.
    3. Write sentences to synthesize the emperor’s accomplishments and/or failures. In your sentences, be sure to use a conjunction.
    4. Compare and contrast the accomplishments and failures of both emperors.
    5. Write complex sentences using but, because, and so to express your comparisons.

    EXTRA CREDIT: READ AND ANNOTATE MATERIAL FOR 4 EMPERORS (COMPLETE EXTRA WORK ON LOOSE LEAF WITH COMPLETE HEADING)

    Extended:

    1. Draw a structure(pillars, photograph, portrait, temple, building, etc.) to commemorate the accomplishments, or failures, of one of your emperors.
    2. Your structure must link to the Roman culture and have an inscription describing the purpose.
